A hundred and seven of them, and only one is stored as a picture.

Every critter is built from a seed, a body template and a palette, drawn by the game the moment it is needed. That is why there can be this many, and why the whole app is a few megabytes. These are being drawn in your browser right now by the same code. The exception is Nikki, the companion — she is a real cat, and she is drawn by hand.

The ones you meet early are shown as they are. The rest are left as silhouettes on purpose — finding out what they turn into is most of the game, and this page is not going to spend that for you.
